Drew Smith specializes in all aspects of brand protection and trademark enforcement and regularly advises brand owners on international trademark protection, including trademark strategies, anti-counterfeit initiatives, and global brand expansion objectives.

Before founding Resonate IP,  Drew worked at a specialized IP law firm concentrating on global trademark representation and domestic trademark enforcement initiatives for global sporting competitions and multinational lifestyle companies.

Drew’s technical background in the life sciences and representative matters before state and federal courts while at a national law firm allows him to successfully advocate for brand owners in various industries.  Drew regularly enforces federal and common law trademark rights via opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), including a successful appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in 2020.

Drew is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and regularly writes and speaks on trademark matters to industry and trade groups in the technology, lifestyle, and outdoor industries.

When not advocating on behalf of brands, Drew can be found exploring the mountains of Central Oregon with his wife, two kids, and their Bernese Mountain Dogs, Shasta and Winter.
